Your Life, Your Canvas

About

Inner Canvas is built on the idea that everyone carries a full inner world long before they ever consider therapy. Thoughts, emotions, memories, patterns, contradictions, all of it already exists. Nothing starts from scratch. Nothing is empty. What’s happening on the inside has been shaped over time, often quietly, often without much space to be noticed or understood.

The name Inner Canvas reflects that inner space. A place where experiences leave their mark, where some areas feel clear, and others feel tangled, unfinished, or overwhelming. Healing isn’t about covering that up or starting over. It’s about slowing down enough to really look at what’s already there and learning how to relate to it with more care, curiosity, and compassion.

At Inner Canvas Counselling, therapy is approached as a collaborative and human process. The work begins with what feels present and real, not with labels or expectations. Thoughts don’t need to be perfectly explained. Feelings don’t need to make immediate sense. Growth happens through understanding, not pressure.

Inner Canvas Counselling is named for this belief: your inner world is the canvas, shaped by everything you’ve lived through. Therapy here honours that complexity and supports you in making sense of it in a way that feels steady, respectful, and genuinely human.

Meet the Founder:

Hello, I’m Kimia Taghavi, a Registered Psychotherapist, and the founder of Inner Canvas Counselling. I show up to therapy as a real, present, and engaged human. I’m pretty direct, fairly laid-back, and not big on therapy that feels stiff.

In sessions, we’ll talk about what’s actually going on. The overthinking. The family stuff. The relationships that leave you confused, drained, or replaying conversations in your head at 2 a.m. You don’t need to have the “right” insight ready or explain things perfectly. Half the time, we figure it out as you’re saying it out loud.

A bit about me: I really care about context. Your background, family dynamics, culture, and life experiences all matter here. I also believe therapy can feel human. There’s room for honesty, pauses, and yes, sometimes a bit of humour, because life is messy and taking ourselves seriously all the time doesn’t usually help.

That’s all I’ve got about me. Take good care, and if our paths don’t cross, I wish you the best of luck on your journey.
